Slideshow Indonesia

Introduction

In the last years I was several times in Indonesia and had the opportunity to visit many interesting places. I spent some time in Bali, then visiting universities in Yogyakarta, Bandung and Jakarta and recently I visited Sumatra and Borneo (East Kalimatan).

Shows

  • [Bali]: Holidays in Bali (Legian) and one conference in Nusa Dua.
  • [Bali "Monkeys"]: Bali is a small island, but has a lot of attractive places. Some of the places like Uluwatu and Ubud allow close contact to monkeys.
  • [Yogyakarta City]: Some impressions of the city of Yogyakarta, a city with a lot of historical places.
  • [Yogyakarta Watercastle]: The Watercastle from the Sultan; In very bad shape these days.
  • [Borobudur]: Borobudur is a remarkable Buddhist Temple near Yogyakarta.
  • [Prambanan]: Prambanan is a very important Hindu-temple; it is also located near to Yogya and Borobudur
  • [Bandung]: Bandung is a city near Jakarta; The climate is milder than in Jakarta. I was several times in Bandung and also had the opportunity to visit the tea plantation and a volcano nearby.
  • [Bandung Pasar Baru]: As bazaars are among my most favorite motives, I also had to visit the old bazaar (pasar baru).
  • [Borneo, East-Kalimatan: Balipapan]: A few impressions from Balikpapan and surrounding like an Urang Utan reservation.
  • [Sumatra, Lake Toba and Samosir]: In 2007 I visited Sumatra, the lake toba-area. These photos give an impression mainly on Samosir island which is an island in lake toba. Samosir has, though "only" an island in a lake, a size of approx. Singapore.
  • [Near Lake Toba: Siborongborong Market]: During my stay at lake toba I could visit an impressive local market in a village called Siborongborong.
  • [Jakarta]: Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia with approx 10 million people. I have to confess, that Jakarta is not my favorite place in Indonesia, however, some few impressions.
